2011 Journey to Excellence Silver Award

What Our Eagles Do

Being an Eagle Scout means being a leader. Troop 53's finest have gone on to distinguish themselves both in and out of Scouting.

In Scouting:
In the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremonies that Troop 53 uses, part of the Eagle Scout Promise or Pledge states: "[I] promise to give back more to Scouting than it has given me." See for yourself...

  • 8 are currently registered as adult leaders in Troop 53
  • 3 more are adult leaders in either Cub or Boy Scouts (outside Troop 53)
  • One is the former Scoutmaster of Troop 53

  • At least 2 have served on staff at Philmont, one as a Ranger, the other as a back-country commissary manager.
  • At least 3 have completed Wood Badge

  • At least 26 have Bachelor's degrees, some more than one degree

  • At least 3 are currently serving in the military
  • 3 are teachers, or have taught at some level of education
  • 1 is an Air Marshall

Personal:

  • 1 has completed the Boston Marathon

You notice the words "at least" quite a bit in the above list. These are just the Eagles with whom I have been able to keep in touch. I am sure many more have distinguished themselves as much or more than these.

If you earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 53, please fill out this biography form so we can update these statistics.
