Troop 53
Order of the Arrow History

The Order of the Arrow is intended as a device to glorify the Scout Promise and Law in Scouts' and Scouters' daily lives; to develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit; to promote Scout camping; to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life of purpose and leadership in cheerful service to others. Troop 53 had a proud association with the former Taleka Lodge #81 of Okaw Valley Council throughout its history. We have continued that tradition of service with Nisha Kittan Lodge of Lewis & Clark Council. Below are some significant honors, awards and offices bestowed upon Troop 53 members. However, many others have served as Lodge officers, Chapter officers, committee chairmen, and committee advisers.
