Statement of
Purpose

troop53.net exists to provide the members and friends of Troop 53 with news and information about the Troop and resources that they can use to further their Scouting career.

In addition to providing communication internal to Troop 53, this web site also is a primary method of communicating our outstanding program to the rest of the world. We hope that others can learn from our successes and failures and use some of the material provided here to better their own unit's program.

We at Troop 53 take the BSA Youth Protection Policy seriously and there are some undesirable characters creeping and crawling around the World Wide Web. Therefore, you will not see a Scout's name, address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal information on the publicly accessible pages of this site, with the exception of the following:

• Pictures with first name captions
• Eagle Scouts (Name only)

All requests from outside Troop 53 for personal information about the youth or adult members of the Troop will be ignored. Depending on the content of the message received, other action may ensue.

All communications with Troop 53 from this web site must be through a contact or other form.
