2 B.S.A. Lifeguard
You must be at least 14 years old or have finished 8th grade. You must talk to the Waterfront Director to arrange times for this activity. Don't count on taking but maybe one other class.
3 Golf Merit Badge
Each Scout who participates must provide their own clubs and plastic practice balls. All other arrangements will be taken care of by the camp staff. Scouts will be out of camp on Friday morning during the week as they participate in the weekly Camp Joy Open. Scouts will have to work extra hard throughout the week to complete all requirements for their Friday morning classes.
4 Project COPE
Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience is a challenge ropes course designed for Scouts who are 13 and older to participate in a series of challenges that will help them with teamwork, problem solving, decision making, and self esteem. The COPE program starts with "low challenges" and ends with the "high course" and Camp Joy's exciting Zip Line. A Scout must have a current 2006 Health Physical signed by a licensed physician within the past year. The "within the last 36 months" guideline on the medical forms does not apply to COPE! It must be within the past 12 months.
