6/7/08 — Another New Eagle Scout!

Congratulations to Scott Brethauer! Scott passed his Eagle Board of Review this past Thursday and becomes Troop 53's 56^th Eagle Scout.

5/22/08 — Website update

Search boxes have been added to all pages having the left side "navigation" column (e.g. this page). Similar boxes have also been added to the Members Area, the Smartbook area, and the Archives. Searches in those areas are context-specific, i.e. a search using the search box on a Members Area page only searches files in the Members Area. In all cases and areas an "advanced search" is available if you need more control or need to search a different area.

5/22/08 — Troop 53 in the news

Well, kind of. And if you know where to look. On page C1 of today's Belleville News-Democrat is a picture of last year's Belleville Memorial Day Parade. If you look closely you can see Troop 53's own Joey D. carrying the U.S. flag. Unfortunately that picture is not on the paper's website.

Permission/registration forms for our next campout at Hazlet State Park, May 16-18, are available in the Members area.

5/5/08 — Calendar updates

I recently received a copy of the Okaw Valley Council 2008-09 Calendar and have updated our web calendar and the one-page list of events with all the events that concern the youth and adults of Troop 53.

5/5/08 — More Congratulations!

The awards keep rolling in for Troop 53 members. This time it's Eagle Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster Mark Thurman. Mark was recently awarded the National Eagle Scout Association's $20,000 Mabel and Lawrence S. Cook Eagle Scout Scholarship for the Central Region. He is featured in the Spring 2008 Edition of the Eagleletter, NESA's official publication. Mark is finishing his freshman year at Carnegie-Mellon University. Congratulations Mark!

5/3/08 — New Eagle Scout!

Congratulations to Troop 53's 55^th Eagle Scout, Justin Young! Justin passed his Eagle Board of Review this past Thursday.

4/22/08 — Congratulations!

At this past weekend's Taleka Lodge (Order of the Arrow) Spring Fellowship Troop 53's Jim Maule and Robbie M. were awarded the Vigil Honor, the highest honor in the OA. Congratulations on this outstanding recognition!
